Mama Matters Group
Mama Matters is a support group for women struggling with postpartum challenges, such as decreased mood, increased anxiety, relationship pressure, diminished concentration, decreased self-esteem, and more. If you feeling like motherhood is not as easy or comfortable as you thought it would be, you don't need to suffer alone. Did you know that ONE in SEVEN women suffer in motherhood, and frankly, those numbers are probably lowballed. Typically, we suffer silently because we feel shame for not having an easy, carefree time being a mom, like somehow our struggle is our fault. But it's not our fault, we are not alone, and it doesn't have to be a struggle. Help is here. Groups are led by Dr. Jennifer Berton, LICSW, and include education into the signs and symptoms of postpartum problems, including risk factors associated with them, and an effective plan to address each one. Mothers support each other by creating solutions together. All mothers are welcome, regardless of the age of your child. Infants are welcome to attend with their mothers if needed.
Groups are held at The Rose Center for Learning 42 Dearborn Street Newport
Groups are $25 each session. All forms of payment are accepted. Choose one group: Wednesdays 6:00-7:30pm or Thursdays 10-11:30am |
