Superior Supervision
Training SynopsisWe know that good supervision can be hard to find, and one major reason is that supervisors are rarely adequately trained. If you are a supervisor, or interested in becoming one, this training will give you everything you need to build an ethical, engaging, effectual supervision practice.
Core IdeasThis training has obvious innovations in direct practice and ethics, as it aims to help the supervisor improve their daily practice, which positively affects each clinician and the clients they each serve. Supervisors are often thrown into the role without adequate training to provide the best clinical supervision. Supervision courses are often difficult to find, and are rarely required. Yet effective supervision is the single greatest tool clinicians have to an ethical and clinical practice, thus this training also connects to ethics by showing supervisors how to build an ethical practice in their clinicians. This training topic connects to diversity with a section on working with multi-multiculturalism in sessions. It connects to advocacy because decent supervision will improve the professional lives of clinicians and will better equip clinicians to advocate for their clients as needed. A particular focus of this training will be examining case studies of supervision to discover common challenges and how to effectively address them.
